Masrif — from the root ṣ-r-f, to flow, to spend — has always been about aligning money with faith. Today that becomes literal: Atlas, the Islamic banking engine we built with Bank Muamalat, is rebranding as Masrif eWallet and moving natively into the Masrif app.
In practice, the wallet is no longer a separate app you keep in a folder. Your balance lives beside the Quran reader, the prayer times and the assistant: give sadaqah while you read, pay zakat the moment the calculator says you are due, fund waqaf after Jumuah — in a single tap.
Shariah-compliant by construction
Funds are held in Shariah-compliant placements — there is no interest-bearing parking of balances. Every transaction is categorised automatically into needs, charity, savings and family, turning the wallet into a personal masrif ledger: a clear account of where your wealth went.
Malaysian users get DuitNow ID and QR, FPX online banking, card top-ups and bill payments. The zakat engine computes due amounts across cash, gold and savings above nisab, and settles with BAZIS and authorised institutions directly from your wallet.
“Wealth is a trust, and software should honour that trust — flow without leakage, spending without waste.”
What comes next
Over the coming months: earnings permissibility screening, waqaf endowment builders, qurban and badal haji servicing, and cross-border remittance corridors — all under the same design rule: calm interface, honest maths, private by default.
